Great spot! We stayed in a cabin with bunk beds and a full sized bed. It had a cute porch swing. We purchased fire wood and they brought it to the cabin along with a little fire pit. The location was great and very close to downtown. The farm animals were fun. The donkeys can be a little loud, but they put them away at night so it wasn’t an issue. This is next to the airport, but it was quiet at night. I didn’t hear jets til 7am, and most campers are up by that time anyway.

This is a very nice but small KOA. It does not have all of the amenities of other KOAs (no pool) but if you are looking for a quiet, friendly place to camp while in the Gunnison/Crested Butte area, I highly recommend this KOA!! The roads are gravel along g with the sites. The sites are very large and have beautiful grass that is kept mowed and watered!! Our site was #32. The sites are level!! The staff was very friendly. One attraction of note is the small petting area that has burros and goats!. These pets do roam the park and are very friendly. One other item. The Gunnison airport is about a .5 miles away and you will hear the occasional plane land and takeoff! A lot of small business jets!! The KOA is about 2 miles from downtown Gunnison which has lots of restaurants and stores.

The stay was fine until Sue yelled and my son and called him stupid. I cannot believe someone would talk to a child like that! This is the least kid friendly KOA I’ve ever been to. No activities AT ALL and the price you pay for what you get is laughable. We will not be back. Save your money and camp and one of the many other options in the area.

I completely understand your feeIing of her being rude. That's because that's all she knows. She was so happy to take my money over the phone and sounded angry that she couldn't get more money for my serve dog. She's greedy and rude. She never disclosed the cancellation policy over the phone she just wanted the money.
I will find every avenue to review this woman and I will only be truthful.
Have you noticed that she responds to any of these reviews.
All other companies do. She could careless about people.
Below is my issue and I stand by it.

I made a reservation by phone with the owner for a 1 night at this specific KOA in Gunnison. There was never a mention of the cancellation rules by this owner when I spoke with her originally. She was very happy to take my moneythough.
I had to cancel this reservation to to unforseen issues with my travel
The extremely rude owner is refusing to give any of my deposit back
Her policies are unheard of at any other KOA. I have checked with the main KOA people I reported her them them as well.
Campers beware, your money will be stolen and your vacation will be ruined due to the rudeness of the owner only wanting to take money from people.
Don't stay here.

It's a nice park. Lots of grass and trees. It fills up so make reservations. Park employees are very helpful. There's a good sized laundry room. Donkeys and goats have free rein. The kids like them but they are quiet and not aggressive.

The worst KOA we have been to. We were given a pull through that was so close to our neighbors that if we sat at our picnic table, we’d be right at their windows. |They also have 2 donkeys roaming around, with several more, plus goats in a corral right as you drive in. There are broken buckets, lead ropes and other garbage there. But what is the worse is every one of those donkeys need their feet trimmed. I fed carrots to the two roaming and one had a hoof growing so far out he was walking on the side of his hoof. ? That is animal neglect and animal abuse. The other roaming donkey had very poor teeth as it was very difficult for him to eat a carrot. |If you’re going to have animals, especially at a campground, TAKE CARE OF THEM. |Maybe I should just call the humane society.

They treat you like family.
We stayed here for 5 days with our grandkids. The park has lots of grass with donkeys roaming freely. We have two dogs, and the donkeys and dogs just ignored each other. There is a small fishing pond just outside the park, and the fishing was great. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, treating us like family.
