We had been going here for a few years with no issues with basic oil changes. Recently, we had some transmission work done along with an oil change. We noticed after getting the vehicle serviced there was a leak coming from the bottom of the vehicle. We brought the vehicle back for repair and they "fixed" it at no additional charge. Unfortunately, they did not fix the leak. After three to four trips back and forth they were unable to identify and or fix the leak. We then brought it to a different repair shop and they provided us with the pictures of the sloppy patchwork with silicone on our transmission. In the other mechanics opinion, the work underneath the transmission and rear brakes was not done correctly and the heavy silicone was not the proper solution. While we recognize the vehicle was 10 years old. It was very evident that we did not have a leak prior to receiving service at E&J and afterwards it was a constant leak. Overall just a terrible service experience along with communication that often includes us having to call to get updates even once having the business close for the day without even providing an update on service. Just not the proper way to communicate with customers and a failure in servicing the vehicle. Would not recommend.

Needed to find a new place to take my old Pontiac, my mechanic retired. Finally got a great connection, from a family going there for generations.
As a woman, this family owned business felt right
Made and appt, was fitted in within days. Ray recommend the oil change, so I would get my inspection free. Win win.
I was beyond impressed with the results, pics and info in my messages within a few hours. Discussed what items were major, and the others as needed.
Best decision I ever made. I will be going back for continued maintenance.
Thank you Ryan, Carlos, Alex, I am so grateful for the timely and fair priced service.
Will definitely recommend you to everyone.

The people at E & J have been nothing short or amazing! The customer service has been the best i have experienced thus far when dealing with auto sevices. Honest quotes on costs and issues that are minor and major. That goes a long way when dealing with everyday people! Been going here for 3-4 years and will continue!

E &J is honestly the best auto repair shop in Chicago , as a woman is nice to know that there is a shop that won’t take advantage of you and is honest and straightforward. My favorite part of this experience was the detailed multi point inspection (digital) that was done to my car along with pictures of the recommended repairs.

It's difficult to find a great mechanic but I believe that I have one. My son had been having problems with his SUV and we took it to E&J. Alex was able to fix all of the issues in a timely manner. He is very honest and knowledgeable.

Update: After the great work done on my son's SUV, I brought my Kia Optima in for a rattling noise & 90,000 maintenance inspection. Alex's crew took care of everything. Very satisfied with all the results. Another 5 ⭐

Awesome experience in this shop, i was desesperated for get my car fix and the dealer was completely book at the time. I only owe 1 car and to be able to get a rental the car have to be on the shop for more than 2 days. It was so crazy for me. I call them and they take my car right away I took it late that's way he told me he can have it ready for next day. Omg he was really kind he offered an Uber to get back home. I am really thankful and this will be my shop for now on. Thank you so much for your help!!!
