I haven't really ever been in Ulta before. But I needed a gift for my teenage niece. The store is large and kind of tough to find stuff, but the staff was incredibly helpful. I found a gift for her and got a couple of things for me! Signed up for their rewards program and am looking forward to going back with my discount coupon in hand. Incredible variety. Great service. Very good pricing.

Do not spend your hard earned money here. Just don't. This was my second time here and it will gladly be my last. It isn't the products they carry. It's the workers. I was very close to writing a review the first time I went here, but thought I'd give them another chance. You walk in with no greeting. Not one of them give you the time of day. They don't ask if you need help finding anything. My husband came with me today and they asked him if he needed any help, not me. I'm the woman spending money on makeup, not my husband. I was about to spend hundreds in there. After I heard the pink haired employee asking my husband if he needed help and not me, I put the items down and left! The first time I went shopping here, the male employee helped me! I had to ask the very rude woman at the register to get someone to help me though (she wouldn't even look at me) and she called him from the back. He was very nice, but I was shocked he was able to help me more than the other women. In fact, the women that work there have their nose in the air. I felt like I was bugging them if I asked for help! Which is hilarious because the store is never busy when I've gone. It's not like the products in there are cheap. You leave spending $100 on 2 items. C'mon and you can't help your customers or at least be polite?! Nobody takes pride in their job here and it shows in the sloppiness of the products as well as their attitude. Either the employees here aren't paid well or they're unhappy, or both. I feel sad for whoever is in charge at this store and all their employees.

This store was nice when it first opened not at all anymore. Rude unhelpful staff messy unorganized semi empty shelves. They just are heavy on pushing their credit card or donating to a charity, if you say no they are instantly done with you and cut you off. Complete waste of time and money I will not go to this location anymore.

My daughter made an appointment for her hair to be done over a week before and today when she has a wedding to attend, which is why she was having her hair done, Ulta SLO cancels the appointment same day. So unprofessional and I've seen other reviews with the same situation. Very disappointing. Go to another salon. They charge high prices for bad service.

SLO and Paso Robles are my go to stores. Paso Robles has better customer service, the SLO store has kids working there with weird colored hair do's that don't even look good because it's faded or grown out. They really have no clue about make up and skin care. I think they need to hire people that fit the part. I would never take suggestions from someone that doesn't look the part or I don't feel they know what they are talking about. Paso Robles seems to have management that understands that concept. However - if I just need something quick and I'm in SLO, I run in and grab what I need, the staff trys hard to get the customer in and out by calling for extra staff to ring people up. This goes for both stores. I love Ulta.

Worse location rude employees bunch of college students who don’t want to do their job if you don’t wanna do your job now and look for something in the back when it says available online for pickup and in store what makes you think you’ll have a successful career? I will no longer come to this location SM is where I’ll be going for now on not to mention I wasted gas coming from AG

Please find another place to do your hair and makeup . I had a special event and went to get some makeup spend about $200 they offered to do my makeup for my event they said was free and they can do hair for $35 it sounded amazing. The day of the event about 30 min before they called to cancel on me. Later they call me back sharing they found another person. I patiently wait and went on time wait and they did and horrible unprofesional hair asked for waves they did curls :/ and the makeup :/ I wish i did it myself. I was not on time to my event and they charge me for ALL paid $140 for and Horrible unprofessional work miss to be in my special event on time. The manager was very defensive, verbal aggressive , not taking any responsibility

I made a wedding/bridal "Wash/Blowdry/Style-Curl" hair appointment with the Salon 2 weeks prior to the wedding date. My appointment was set for 12pm with GINA. At 11:08AM the morning of the Wedding, she texted me/blowing up my phone, introducing herself and requested example photos & said to come having "clean/dried hair".. This was less than an hour before my appointment time, which was quite stressful the morning of one's wedding. Let alone, I specifically requested a wash/blowdry/style, weeks prior. It should have been made clear days prior (Not an hour before). When I arrived early in fact, Gina was still working on another client's hair. By the time she finally saw me, it was almost 20 MINUTES LATE. She even had to have the front desk associate help assist with setting up her station with various products she needed. Although she was pleasant, she seemed flustered, rushed and definitely un-prepared, even dropping items on the floor multiple times.
After washing, drying and applying plenty of volume/hold product.. she claimed my hair was not holding/keeping it's curl. Almost 2 hours later I had to get going back to the hotel to finish getting ready and she also had another client waiting. $80 later my hair was shiny but flat and not very curly at all. I was upset and disappointed and it really stressed me out that day. Gina at least put my rhinestone hair clip securely in however, I regret getting my hair done by this location/stylist. 🙁
